Why we're called Ironclad

In 2008, Ray watched his mother pay $1,400 for a brake job she'd been quoted $400 for. The shop called the difference "extra parts." She didn't know what to ask, and they knew it.

Ray had been fixing cars since he was fourteen, so he did the one thing he knew how to do. He rented a two-bay garage on Workshop Avenue and wrote a single rule on a whiteboard above the counter.

The price we quote is the price you pay.

Customers started calling it "the ironclad quote." The name stuck, and so did the rule. Every car still goes up on the lift before anyone talks money. Every problem gets photographed and sent to the owner. Nothing gets fixed until they say yes.

Eighteen years later there are four of us. The whiteboard has been replaced twice. The rule hasn't changed a word.

They sent me photos of my worn brake rotors before quoting. First shop that's ever shown me the problem instead of just telling me.

Before you book

What does a diagnostic include?

A full computer scan, a road test, a visual inspection on the lift, and a plain-language report with photos of what we found. You get a written quote for any repair before we start.

What if the repair costs more than the quote?

It won't, without your say-so. If we open something up and find another problem, we stop, send you photos and a new written quote, and wait for your yes.

Can I wait while you work on it?

Yes, for diagnostics, oil services and most brake or tire jobs. Choose "I'll wait" in the form and we'll plan your slot around it.

Do you work on my make?

Very likely. We carry dealer-level scan tools for European, Asian and American vehicles, including hybrids, EVs, trucks and fleet vehicles.
